GRADUATE MINOR CORVALLIS
Education Graduate Minor
The Education Graduate Minor is available to Master’s and Ph.D. students in any OSU major and is designed for students to learn teaching theory, education policy, and education research methodologies.
Set yourself apart with deeper knowledge in the education sciences
The Education Graduate Minor prepares students to facilitate people’s learning and development, including in positions that interface with the public, students, and other constituencies. Students interested in professions requiring learning, teaching, or leadership will develop knowledge and skills that can help set them apart in their field via experiences in the education sciences.
The Education Graduate Minor is not part of a licensure program and does not result in a teaching or counseling license, which is required to teach in many K-12 schools.
Individualized to your interests
Students will find a minor faculty advisor that aligns with their interests with the support of a College of Education faculty member. The minor advisor and student work together to determine course requirements for the Education Graduate Minor, individualized to each student’s academic and professional interests.
Declaring the minor
For more details and assistance with identifying a minor advisor, contact [email protected] prior to taking more than 6 credits in the Education programs (e.g., ED or SED suffix) in the College of Education (i.e., courses at or above the 500-level). All OSU minor advisors serve on students’ graduate degree committees. OSU minors are declared on students’ programs of study.
