Further your career as a researcher in higher education

The Doctor of Philosophy in Adult & Higher Education (Ph.D.-AHE) will prepare you for positions in research and policy in higher education. In this program, you’ll work closely with a faculty advisor with similar, equity-driven research interests. As a part of a small cohort, you’ll receive individualized attention from our renowned higher education scholars.

This program is full-time, with classes are offered at our locations in Portland and Corvallis, Oregon.

Rooted in equity and social justice

All AHE programs are designed with equity and social justice in mind. Rather than having a single course focused on social issues, equity is intentionally embedded throughout all of the coursework in the Ed.D. and Ph.D. programs. Additionally, the research interests of the AHE faculty are focused on equity and social justice.
