Oregon State's College of Education proudly partners with multiple school districts in the Portland metro region and Willamette Valley to provide a unique pathway for district staff to become certified elementary teachers. Students in the Master of Arts in Teaching program benefit from a unique, real-world teaching experience. If you currently work with students in an elementary classroom setting, our program has the potential to enable you to keep your job while earning a Master of Arts in Teaching and licensure.
If you are not working as an employee in the district while pursuing your MAT, your clinical placement will require you to be present in a district classroom at least twice weekly during the first year and regularly during the second year.
Our current district partners who are accepting applicants for the MAT program, to begin in summer 2022:
- Portland Public Schools Dual Language Residency Program (*applicants do not need to be current employees of the district to apply for this partnership.)
- Hillsboro School District
- Corvallis School District
- Greater Albany Public Schools
- Lake Oswego School District
- Newberg School District
- North Clackamas School District
- Molalla River School District
- Salem-Keizer Public Schools
- Don’t see your district listed here? Please reach out. We are in the process of developing additional partnerships that may be available.
