Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa Delta Pi Alpha Omega Chapter was established under the College of Education at Oregon State University in 2024. The Kappa Delta Pi Alpha Omega Chapter is committed to fostering excellence in education by supporting the professional growth, leadership, and academic integrity of its members.

Rooted in KDP, the ideals of knowledge, duty, and power, we aim to inspire lifelong learning, uphold high ethical standards, and promote meaningful service to the educational community. Through collaboration, scholarship, and advocacy, the Alpha Omega Chapter empowers educators to make an impact on classrooms, schools, their personal and professional lives, and beyond.

About us

KDP recognizes academic excellence and commitment to the teaching profession. Being part of KDP offers opportunities for professional growth through networking, conferences, and access to exclusive educational resources. Members engage in service projects, leadership development, and collaborations that promote equity and excellence in education while also collaborating with fellow educators to learn from other experiences in different academic settings.

KDP encourages lifelong learning and ethical practice, inspiring educators to make a positive impact on their classrooms and communities through the knowledge, duty, and power of teaching. Embedded Mediated Field Experiences are a unique opportunity for College of Education students at OSU-Cascades, providing a supportive yet realistic environment in which students engage deeply with teaching practices, build confidence in the classroom, and prepare for their future as educators.

Leadership

Samantha Cook, President

My name is Samantha Cook and I am a senior in my student teaching year here at Oregon State Universities College of Education! Back in 2024, I was asked to be part of the founding team for our chapter, not knowing what that would look like. Little did I know this would open so many doors for me and my peers. I am beyond grateful to be part of the leadership team for this chapter. Seeing where we came from, and where we are going is incredible. From networking events to self-care nights, I love being able to see how our chapter is growing and benefiting our members as both educators and individuals.
