Biography
Tenisha L. Tevis is an Associate Professor of Adult and Higher Education in the College of Education at Oregon State University (OSU). She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Theory and Policy Studies with a concentration in Higher Education from The Pennsylvania State University. Tenisha's work informs how institutional agents, namely administrators and faculty, can better support historically disenfranchised students, and transform the communities in which they serve. She interrogates postsecondary practices in an effort to promote equity and inclusion across the organization. Recent publications include Considering both HBCU and PWI options: Exploring the college choice process of first-year Black students and Train for the job you want (or will be asked to take): Envisioning the doctorate as preparation for equity-minded leadership in higher education. And her recent co-edited book with Zak Foste is titled Critical Whiteness Praxis in Higher Education: Considerations for the Pursuit of Racial Justice on Campus.

- Minoritized populations’ transition to college, and whether they are disenfranchised by inequitable practices
- The relationship between leadership and identity, exploring how identity influences leadership practices and perhaps contributes to patterns of inequality and exclusion.
