Juliana Houston is a lifelong educator and proud product of Corvallis Public Schools.

She is passionate about supporting students and educators to reach their goals and believes that all students deserve an excellent education, and that all teachers deserve excellent systems of support.

Juliana spent the first eight years of her career teaching middle school math, science, and art in Oakland public schools. She is passionate about building school environments that support students to feel appreciated, joyful, and eager to learn. During her time in Oakland Unified, Juliana worked alongside extraordinary colleagues and community members while serving on the school based Instructional Leadership Team, Community and Culture Team, School Design Team, and through coaching new teachers.

Prior to joining the faculty at Oregon State, Juliana led equity-based continuous improvement with Title 1 Schools in the Bay Area, where she had the privilege of supporting incredible teachers and leaders to set clear goals, establish strong systems for professional learning, and grow their leadership skills in order to better serve all students.

Juliana received her MAE from Alliant University where she completed her masters work on school-community partnerships. She completed her M.Ed in Instructional Leadership from Reach University, where her work supported systems for integrating student voice within the continuous improvement process.

Outside of professional endeavors, Juliana loves to get outside with loved ones and is deepening her understanding of early literacy and early numeracy through her two amazing toddlers.
