Beth Rankin

In the fall of 2021, Beth Rankin joined us from the University of Kansas where she completed her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. Her dissertation explored contributing factors of secondary traumatic stress in K-12 educators. She also holds an M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction and a B.S. in Elementary Education, both from the University of Kansas. Beth brings knowledge and experience from having taught K-5 students and beyond. She has also served as an instructor at the University of Kansas and she has specialized knowledge of support for ELLs. Currently, her focus for both teaching and research is in trauma-informed care practices for K-12 students. Beth has created courses at OSU such as ED 225: Trauma-Informed Care in Education I and ED 325: Trauma-Informed Care II, as well as a trauma-informed course for the Honors College.
