Biography:
Dr. April LaGue is an Associate Clinical Professor and Clinical Coordinator in the Counseling Program at Oregon State University's College of Education. With over 15 years of experience in both academic and school settings, Dr. LaGue specializes in training school and clinical mental health counselors. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Oregon State University and has developed expertise in social justice advocacy, counseling supervision, and fostering student development. Dr. LaGue is recognized for her contributions to curriculum development, mentorship, and advancing equity and inclusion within educational counseling.
Her research focuses on issues such as supporting marginalized student populations, particularly LGBTQ2SIA+ youth, and addressing math anxiety through mindfulness-based interventions. Dr. LaGue has authored peer-reviewed publications and presented her work at national conferences. She is actively involved in professional organizations, including the American Counseling Association (ACA), and has received multiple nominations and awards for her excellence in teaching and mentorship.
