Biography:
Dr. Patiño-Cabrera is a Latine, bilingual educator. She is the lead of the TEAMS Grant program, a researcher, and an ESOL/DL instructor at Oregon State University. She serves on the Oregon Association for Bilingual Education board and is a director of the Educator Advancement Council. Her work is committed to advancing equitable learning opportunities, focusing on empowering multilingual, immigrant, and migrant students. She prioritizes the creation of inclusive environments where students and their families, educators, and researchers come together to learn while broadening their collective understanding of the world.
Her research focuses on equity in dual-language bilingual education. Key areas of interest include multicultural teaching practices, policies, planning, and program development. She has presented her work at national and state conferences, including the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE), the Multilingual Education Conference, and the Confederation of Oregon School Administrators (COSA) Conference.
