ESOL PROGRAM COMPONENTS

To complete the ESOL endorsement, candidates must:
  1. Complete all ESOL coursework with a 3.0/B average or higher,

  2. Pass the ESOL teacher licensure exam, and

  3. Submit a satisfactory portfolio.

After completing these requirements, you will be eligible for adding the endorsement to your Oregon teaching license.  See our Program Handbook for more information about the licensure process.

ESOL Coursework

The required ESOL coursework for all endorsement candidates is 18 credit hours.

Licensure Exams

Before applying for licensure, ESOL endorsement candidates must pass the NES English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) exam.
