Melissa Medina

Melissa Medina has served as the Coordinator of Graduate Student Recruitment and Admissions in the College of Education since 2025. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing from Sacramento State University and a master’s degree in Adult and Higher Education from Oregon State University.

An OSU employee since 2016, Melissa is passionate about supporting and connecting people, often referring to herself as a “matchmaker of resources.” With over 15 years of experience in Human Resources, she transitioned to student-focused work after earning her Ed.M. from OSU in 2025. Her love of learning, willingness to take risks, and belief in the value of “marvelous mistakes” continue to inspire her work in developing creative, practical solutions that improve efficiency and enhance the student experience.

Melissa has also been actively involved in several OSU diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) committees and initiatives. As a proud first-generation college student, she is deeply committed to reducing educational barriers and creating more accessible pathways to success.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys cooking, exploring the outdoors, and attending concerts and live events.
