Promoting lifelong learning: Our mission is to enrich people’s lives in the classroom and in their communities. Our students will become the next generation of teachers, adult educators, informal educators, counselors and educational leaders. Our faculty’s research helps us understand how people learn and teach science and math in schools, as well as museums, zoos and aquariums. Today's students will support tomorrow's learners.
ESOL is full of acronyms. Some of the most common are:
* ESOL = English for Speakers of Other Languages (the subject area or field of study and the designation used for teacher licensure endorsements)
* ELL = English Language Learner (the person)
* ELD = English Language Development (the class or subject area)
