This is not a licensure program.  Applicants need to be working teachers or informal educators with access to a learning environment.

45-credit degree online program

Core Courses: 18 credits

Required courses address a variety of important topics, including:

  • Racial and Cultural Harmony
  • Technology for Educators
  • Research methods in education and action research
  • Teacher leadership
Options: 12 credits

Specialized coursework in primary option:

  • Advanced Science and Mathematics Education 
  • PK-12 English to Speakers of Other Languages 
  • Social Justice in Education 
  • Free Choice Learning
Electives: 15 credits

Elective courses can be selected from the other options, OSU colleges, or transferred into the program. Up to 15 graduate credits may be transferred if they meet OSU Graduate School requirements.

Complete your degree in two years

Enroll in two online course every term during the academic year and two courses in the summer. 

Upon special approval from the program coordinator, students may take fewer credits per term. Please understand with the cohort model, classes are only available certain terms, so plan accordingly.
