Oregon State University is engaged in a campus-wide Marine Studies Initiative, an effort that connects all colleges and programs to the issues, challenges and opportunities facing the world’s oceans and marine habitats. The College of Education values STEM studies and research, including marine science opportunities; and is currently conducting free-choice learning research at the Hatfield Marine Science Center on the beautiful Oregon coast.

  • Free Choice Learning – Oregon Sea Grant’s Free-Choice Learning Lab is housed at Hatfield Marine Science Center employs cutting-edge research to study informal science learning.
  • Mastering Science Education – Oregon State offers a Master of Science in Science Education. Our graduates will train the next generation of marine scientists and explorers.
  • Researching STEM – Oregon State is a leader in the area of STEM learning research. The Center for Research in Lifelong STEM Learning partners with the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences to focus on science and marine topics within STEM learning.
