Amy Beaderstadt has a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in English and Political Science Secondary Education from Albion College in Albion, Michigan. At Albion, Amy also was a member of the Public Policy and Service and Honors Institutes. Her honors’ thesis was entitled “Educators’ Roles in Child Abuse Intervention.” Amy completed a teacher preparation program and did her student teaching in a 10th grade English classroom. While in college, during the summers she worked as a counselor and area director at SpringHill, an overnight camp where she worked with middle school-aged campers. Upon graduating from college in December of 2008, she moved to Corvallis to serve as an AmeriCorps*VISTA at the Boys & Girls Club of Corvallis. She did Resource Development and Marketing for the Boys & Girls Club for a year and a half, and then worked in the Public Safety office at Linn-Benton Community College for about a year before joining the OSU College of Education team in January of 2012.
