At Oregon State University, we offer two degrees in Adult and Higher Education: Adult Education (EdM) and Community College Leadership (EdD or PhD). Both are hybrid programs, online with face-to-face classes held once a month in Wilsonville, OR.
Adult Education: The Master of Education (EdM) in Adult and Higher Education program will prepare you to meet the unique demands of adult leaders in business and industry, government, community agencies, online environments, and community college programs. Our courses in theory, system design, assessment, research, and instructional technology, as well as internships, provide you with the tools and knowledge to design curriculum and implement the most effective learning strategies in a variety of educational settings throughout your professional career.
The Adult and Higher Education Doctoral Program offers two options:
Community College Leadership: A Doctorate in Education (EdD) with the Community College Leadership option focuses on the role and mission of America’s community colleges and on applying high-quality research, best practices and leadership to the challenges and opportunities facing community and technical colleges in the 21st century.
Leadership in Higher Education: A Doctorate in Education (EdD) with the Leadership in Higher Education (LHE) option is dedicated to focusing on the role and mission of America’s four year colleges or universities and on applying high-quality research, best practices and leadership to the challenges and opportunities facing four-year colleges or universities in the 21st century.
